About these terms

These terms apply when you order a personalised book from us through this site. By placing an order you agree to them. We may update them from time to time, and the version that applied when you ordered is the one that covers your order.

What we make

We make personalised books. We take the photos and stories you give us, generate a watercolour illustration from each photo, write and lay out each page, then print and bind the book.

The illustrations are generated from your photos and reviewed by us before printing. There will be some artistic variation from the original image.

Placing an order

You give us the order details through this site. We then reply to confirm the price, the timeline, and any questions. Your order is confirmed once you have paid the deposit. Until then we have not started work.

Payment and deposit

Prices are shown in South African Rand and are the full price of the book. Our current prices are R253 for a Card, R403 for a 12 page Keepsake, R805 for a 20 page Story, and R1380 for a 40 page Legacy. Delivery by courier is R120 anywhere in South Africa. Collection is free around Rosebank, Johannesburg.

We ask for a 50% deposit to confirm your order and start work. The balance is due before we deliver or hand over the book. We will send you payment details when we confirm your order.

Proofs and approval

Before we print anything we send you a digital proof to check. Please read it carefully, especially names and spelling. We make the changes you ask for within reason, then print once you approve. After you have approved the proof, we are not responsible for mistakes that were in it.

Your photos and the rights to them

When you upload photos you confirm that you have the consent of the people shown in them, or of a parent or guardian where the person is a child. You give us permission to use the photos to make your book. We do not use your photos for anything else without asking you first.

Making your book includes having a watercolour illustration generated from each photo by the image service we use, as set out in our privacy policy.

Timelines

We agree a deadline with you and work to it. If you approve proofs late, or we are waiting on information from you, the deadline may move. We will keep you updated.

Delivery and collection

We courier anywhere in South Africa for R120, or you can collect for free around Rosebank, Johannesburg. Once the book has been delivered or collected, the responsibility for it passes to you.

Cancellations and refunds

If you cancel before we start work, your deposit is refundable. If you cancel after we have started, the deposit covers the work already done and may not be refundable. If something goes wrong on our side, we will make it right. Talk to us and we will be fair.
